NSS
There are two NSS units at the institute. Each unit have a capacity of 200 students.
Motto
The motto of NSS is NOT ME BUT YOU. It underlines that the welfare of an individual ultimately depend on the welfare of society as a whole. This express the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of other individual’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings.
NSS Symbol
The Emblem of NSS is based on the “Rath” wheel of the Konark Sun Temple of Orissa. This giant wheel portrays the cycle of creation, preservation and release. And signify the movement in life across time and space. It also stands for dynamism and progressive outlook of youth.
Regular Activities:
NSS volunteers generally work in village, slums and voluntary agencies during an academic year. As per the fundamental principles of National Service Scheme, a volunteer is expected to remain in constant touch with the community therefore, special Camping Forms an integral parts of National Service Scheme. It has special appeal to the youth as it provides unique opportunities to the students for ground living, collective experience sharing and constant interaction with community. The NSS volunteer is to live with the members of the community during the 7 days Special Camping Programme and learn from their experience.
