The Department of Chemistry is one of the oldest departments in Navjivan Science College, Dahod. It had been established in the year 1973 under the direction of Dr. D.H. Mehta sir. Since then, we have offered undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses in addition to COC and COP courses. Our professors are highly qualified with doctoral degrees and Ph.D. guidance. The Managing Trustee of the college has awarded the Karmsheel and Pratibha award to our three faculty members in this department for their dedication towards timeliness at work. The chemistry department has a long history of providing high-quality instruction and research work in cutting-edge areas of chemical science. The students have access to an academic library, that includes a significant selection of international and national recognised journals, textbooks, and reference materials. The department has purchased advanced research instruments. Every year, a small percentage of PG students pass the NET and GSET exams. The department has yielded sixteen Ph.D. students and one hundred eighty-one research papers in prestigious journals. Our department has completed twelve UGC-funded minor research projects and one Bhabha Atomic Research and Nuclear Science-funded major research project.
