Physics
“You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him discover it in himself. - Galileo Galilei”
Physics is the science aimed at describing the fundamental aspects of our universe. This includes
what things are in it, what properties of those things are noticeable, and what processes those
things or their properties undergo. In simpler terms, physics attempts to describe the basic
mechanisms that make our universe behave the way it does. As technology advanced, the
branches of physics diversified even more. These include branches such as acoustics, the study
of sound, and optics, the study of the light, advances in the understanding
of electromagnetism, solid-state physics, and nuclear physics led directly to the development of
new products that have dramatically transformed modern-day society, such
as television, computers, domestic appliances, and nuclear weapons; advances
in thermodynamics led to the development of industrialization; and advances
in mechanics inspired the development of calculus.
Mathematics
"The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics - Paul Halmos"
Maths, especially binary maths, is the heart and soul of technology. Computation
and automation processes are based on mathematical concepts. It is the bedrock of
our modern world. It facilitates telecommunication, transport, construction,
banking, internet, entertainment, graphics, and medical developments. Humans
applied maths to navigate satellites, analyse data, invent robotics and artificial
intelligence. It helps in predicting weathers, epidemics, population dynamics,
glacial meltdown, and ocean decline. From carbon dating to crime detection, maths
is present in each fraction of advanced technology. The world is dynamic and
innovative, hence the need for maths is imperative. A question like “why is maths
important?” seems self-explanatory in itself.
Chemistry
“Student is not a container you have to fill but a torch you have to light up – Albert Einstein"
The Department of chemistry is one of the oldest department of Navjivan Science
College, Dahod established in 1973 under the principal ship of Dr. D. H. Mehta sir and since
then we are running undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D courses and COC & COP courses. Our
faculty members are highly qualified. 7 Faculties members out of 9 have Ph.D. degree and 5
Faculties members out of 9 have Ph.D. Guideship. Three faculty members of this department
achieved Karmsheel & Pratibha award by our management for their punctuality in work. The
chemistry department has a rich tradition of imparting high quality teaching and research in
cutting edge thrust appear of chemical science. The students have access to a seminar library
where a large collection of international and national reputed journals and text books &
references books are housed. The department has procured highend instruments for research.
Few numbers of PG students have qualified NET and GSET examinations every year. The
department has produced 16 Ph.D. students and published 181 research papers in reputed journal.
Our department has completed 12 minor research projects funded by UGC and one major
research project funded by Bhabha atomic research and Nuclear science.
Botany
"Botany is the poetry of nature – Charles Bessey"
Botany is important in the area of economic productivity.
It is involved in the study of crops and ideal growing
techniques that helps farmers increase crop yield . The
study of plants in health care contributes to development
of new herbal medicines and treatments for major
diseases. The study of botany is not just an academic
pursuit , but a way of understanding our place in the
world and our relationship with the environment.
Zoology
“The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of
man. - Charles Darwin”
Zoology is one of the most popular branches in Science that involves the
study of animals and their biological processes. Candidates in this
discipline are basically taught regarding Animal Anatomy, Physiology,
Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Evolution, Ecology, Behavior,
Animal Biotechnology and Wild Life Conservation.
There are numerous career opportunities for candidates who opted
Zoology in the public and private sectors. Candidates find jobs as Animal
Behaviorist, Conservationist, Wildlife Biologist, Zoo Curator, Wildlife
Educator, Zoology faculty, lab technicians. A zoologist can play a key role
in innovate new diagnostic kits, therapeutics; discover new drugs, bio-
pesticide by testing on animals in different pharmaceuticals companies.
Therefore, there is an increase demand for zoologists in India and globally.
Students will learn from interactive smart classrooms and equipped lab
facilities. They will explore by field visits, nature camps, tracking and wild-
life study.
Microbiology
“The pure culture is the foundation of all the research on infectious diseases - Robert Koch”.
The vision of the department of microbiology is to educate and train students in
the discipline of microbiology and to expand the body of knowledge of this
scientific field through research. Our mission is to produce highly qualified and
competent students in all areas of the microbiology. We providing the timely and
accessible information’s on current and emerging trends in microbiology. The
department of microbiology in an integrated team of educators providing leading
education and innovative research expertise in all field of microbiology. To
recognize the strength and ability of the students and work together to achieve our
common goal. Our main role in society is to aware these regional students about
health and hygiene by providing the consortium of knowledge in the disciple of
Microbiology relate with health.
